Gwen is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) in Georgia and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Kennesaw State University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. Gwen is currently practicing under the supervision of Pegge L. Riley, LPC, CPCS, as she works toward full licensure in May of 2026..

Gwen works with individuals, teens (16+), and couples, offering a warm, relational approach rooted in curiosity, compassion, and deep respect for each person’s story. She believes that every life is shaped by a unique narrative—some chapters filled with joy, others marked by confusion and pain. When those experiences feel overwhelming, Gwen provides a safe and supportive space to process, heal, and reconnect.

Gwen is passionate about helping couples at every stage of life strengthen connection, improve communication, and navigate challenging seasons with care and intention. She believes relationships hold the power to wound and heal, and walks alongside clients as they build more secure, meaningful bonds. In addition to her work with couples, Gwen supports individuals facing depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm, allowing for the repair of wounds and past experiences. Grounded in a relationship-first approach, Gwen draws on both professional training and personal experience—as a spouse, parent, child, and friend—to meet clients with deep empathy and understanding. Having done her own healing work through childhood trauma, grief, marriage, parenting, and life complexities, she brings authentic compassion and presence to each session.

If you are feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed, counseling can help you feel more connected—to yourself and to the people you love. Reaching out for support is a brave step—and one that can lead to meaningful change.

Gwen uses evidence-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She is trained in EFT Core Skills (Level 4) and is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator. Her work integrates trauma-informed care and attachment-based therapy, gently exposing the patterns that keep clients stuck in unwanted cycles.

A note from Gwen:

“As a mother of adult children, I understand the beauty and complexity of family relationships and life transitions. Before becoming a counselor, I spent years serving families through ministry leadership and as a wedding planner. These experiences allowed me to walk closely with individuals and couples during both meaningful celebrations and difficult seasons, deepening my passion for helping people feel seen, supported, and understood. Outside the counseling room, I enjoy an active life with my husband of 30 years and my growing family. I enjoy pickleball, cycling, traveling, and seeking out our next adventure. My Christian faith is a part of my life and informs my understanding of healing, grace, and connection. I thoughtfully integrate faith into counseling when desired—honoring every client’s beliefs and values as they move toward hope, healing, and deeper connection".
